The waiting Church, the bride of Christ – Song of Solomon 1, John 3:25-30, Matthew 25:1-13.

Songs of Solomon calls out a church who confesses her love Yeshua in this case, Songs of Solomon 1: 3 “So your anointing oils are fragrant; your name is oil poured out; therefore, virgins love you.”
It’s in the church we declare our salvation and love for Yeshua by confessing him as hashem our savior. It is the church where we wait for Christ return. The Parable of the five foolish and five wise virgin brides who awaits the bride return.

Matthew 25 vs 1 saith
“At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Five of them were foolish and five were wise. 3 The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. 4 The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. 5 The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep”.

Both Songs of Solomon 1 and Matthew 25 speaks of a virgin bride who are to have oil and await the bridegroom. no wonder, the scripture saith seek the lord while he may be found Isaiah 55:6-7. The second bride called rose of Sharon begins to say in Songs of Solomon 2 vs 8 “The voice of my beloved!
    Behold, he comes,
leaping over the mountains,
    bounding over the hills.”

Rose of Sharon hears the voice of the bride, A delighted bride with oil in chapter 1. Matthew 25: 6-9

At midnight the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’

“Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’

“‘No,’ they replied, ‘there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’

Songs of Solomon 3 reveals how the Son of Man will return, in verse 6 as the groom arrives for his wedding perfumed with myrrh and frankincense and verse 10 show his carriage he rides on as Gold (the gift given to Yeshua when he was born by the 3 wise men from the east.) “Go out, O daughter of Zion, and look upon King Solomon.”

Songs of Solomon 8: 14 make haste, my beloved and be like a gazelle or a young stag on mountains of spices. Yes, we wait for Yeshua, Matthew 25: 13 saith:

But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you; I don’t know you.’

13 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.

As I close with Ephesians 5: 26 – 28:

26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.

Takeaway

As we await Yeshua’s return, we ought to remember that he is coming for a virgin (new creation church, reborn in him – cleansed, holy and anointed) with oil in our lamps (anointed) who delights in him (the alabaster box – she washed his feet with her hair, perfumed oil and tears – a picture of worship).

Solomon as a King built temples (house of Elohim) made with hands, whereas Yeshua built temples not made with hands. Solomons church i.e. his bride was different, so the bride of Christ is diverse from every tribe, nation and tongues. And so, the son of man came to save the lost.

You are loved by the kings of kings. Jesus loves you.
